1. Honey bees' wings beat 11,400 times per minute.
2. Bees possess five eyes!
3. Bees cannot recognize the color RED.
4. Bees have been producing honey for at least 150 million years.
5. The Queen Bee can lay 3,000 eggs in a single day.
6. Honeybees communicate with one another by "dancing" so as to give the direction and distance of flowers.
7. A single hive contains approximately 40,000 to 45,000 bees.
And did you know?
8. To make one pound of honey, worker bees in the hive fly 55,000 miles and tap into two million flowers. Phew!
